Specialist salad growers group rebrands as The Baby Leaf Growers Association

The Speciality Produce Growers Association has changed its name to The Baby Leaf Growers Association to better reflect the activity of its members.

The group meets twice a year with the Horticultural Development Company to direct expenditure of the HDC levy, which pays for a range of projects from herbicide work to EAMU data generation.

Meetings usually include a visit to either a chemical or seed company - most recently Tozer Seeds' spinach and rocket trials - so that members can also learn about the work of the wider industry.

The association also benefits from the British Leafy Salads' Make More of Salad PR campaign. It shares a premises with the British Growers Association in Louth, Lincolnshire.
