ProduceView launches new Fresh Produce data service

On 1st July, a new, in-depth, data service was launched for the Fresh Produce industry. ProduceView will enable businesses to obtain significantly greater detail across all fresh produce categories. The product offering has been created over the last twelve months by Market Intelligence Services (MIS).

Tim Mudge, MIS Commercial Manager, explained “We have been providing a cost efficient retail prices service for produce businesses for twenty years. However our clients’ needs have evolved significantly and ProduceView is a solution that is perfectly complementary to other consumer insight sources. We have delivered a product that is extensive, quick to use and adds value to supplier/retailer relationships.”

ProduceView provides category managers, packers, growers, importers and marketing professionals with the capability to accurately inform sales & promotion planning, category reviews and product launch organisation.

MIS Commercial Manager, Tim Mudge, explained “The role of data has changed dramatically in the world of fresh fruit, salad and vegetables. Retailer and supplier relationships have clearly evolved into much more collaborative partnerships. Our new ProduceView service aims to help clients with the challenge of category marketing by providing an online tool that displays data across their product range and allows them to drill down and analyse it. Until now, this has been the type of service that has only been within the reach of a few, very large, grocery multinationals. Now we have developed a cost effective product which can give our customers a definite advantage over their competitors.”

MIS has evolved services over twenty years to become the best known retail information service in fresh produce. ProduceView is unique in that all data is collected in store by a dedicated team of collectors around the UK. Major, flag ship stores and outlets across the country are visited weekly and, using the latest technologies, become the subscriber’s “eyes in the store”. Once data has been collected it is checked and then made available for analysis using a sophisticated on-line analytics tool. This software has the capability to produce instant presentation quality graphics and data.

“We are delighted that we have been able to use the best data collection and analysis tools to provide this service to our customers” added Mudge. “It has been an exciting and challenging project to work on and the team at MIS are very proud of the service, and value for money, that ProduceView offers.”

ProduceView has greatly expanded the depth, breadth and quality of information provided, whilst also consolidating available reports. This makes navigation simpler and client engagement faster. Six weekly reports are available covering all sub-categories, and include retail price, promotion, ranging, tiering and origin data.
Subscribing customers receive data on-line via www.produceview.co.uk and there is a Twitter feed @ProduceView.
