Join the British Growers - Crop Association Manager

by Jack Ward

British Growers is a leading organisation working in the fresh produce sector. We are looking to strengthen our executive team with the recruitment of a key individual to manage our crop associations. This is an exciting time to join the fresh produce sector as we leave the EU, develop a domestic agricultural policy and explore opportunities to grow and sell more fresh fruit and veg.

The main elements of the role will be the administration of our crop associations including organising and attending meetings, preparation of agendas and papers, liaising with key stakeholders, conference and event planning, social media activity and wider representation of the sector’s interests.

The role will be on a flexible annualised hours basis to reflect a workload which is predominantly September to April and reduces in the summer months. Overall it equates to circa 2.5 days a week (or 130 days per annum). Our main office is based in North East Lincolnshire and we operate a satellite office in Peterborough.  The salary will be circa £25,000 to £30,000 pro rata depending upon experience.

The successful candidate is likely to be educated to degree level or have equivalent and relevant experience, strong organisational abilities, good financial acumen and be confident in dealing with the press and public.
