Celebrating success with the Horticulture Week Business Awards

by Jack Ward

2019 is increasingly looking like the year of the plant. The EAT Lancet Commission launched a report at the start of the year highlighting the importance of increasing the percentage of plant-based foods in the diet. A major UK retailer reported that shoppers are starting the year on a healthy footing with sales of fruit and vegetables 3.8 per cent higher for the same time last year. And at the end of January the new Veg Power advertising campaign kicks off.

So here is an opportunity to celebrate this success and shout about the achievements of the UK fresh produce sector with the Horticulture Week Business Awards, the leading national awards event for the UK horticulture industry. There are awards for Salad Grower of the Year; Soft Fruit Grower of the Year; Top Fruit Grower of the Year as well as Best New Edible Crop Variety and Employer of the Year. For more information on how to enter, please go to www.hwbusinessawards.com. Entries close on Thursday 28th February.  British Growers Association members will benefit from a 10% discount on the entry price. Simply enter code: HWBA19 when submitting your entry. And for 2019 Horticulture Week is offering a third entry free.
