British Onions are working with the Horticultural Development Company and NIAB to organise an Open Day for all involved in growing onions. This is the first event in this format to provide an exchange of agronomy and marketing information for onion growers.

The full range of onion varieties will be on display with Bruce Napier giving a summary of the results of this HDC funded trial, FV348c.
Presentations will include papers from Tom Will and David Norman on crop sustainability and the 2014 cropping season in the UK and Europe. There will also be a presentation of on-going and recently concluded research projects funded by the Horticultural Development Company from Alastair Findlay, British Onions Research & Development Committee Chairman.

Chris Wilkinson, British Onions Chairman, will conclude the day with a summary of the Marketing Prospects for the 2014/2015 Onion Season.
This will be an informative day with time to visit the extensive onion bulb variety display, with all participating seed & set companies in attendance to discuss their different varieties. The event will commence at 12 noon for registration, a light lunch and viewing of the varieties.
